big ups: smog city

i first met smog city while pursuing a little something called edu. i was at their hq printing my first shirts while they were printing up posters. we spoke about what each others projects meant and what we envisioned for ourselves in the future. its been about 8 years since then and i'm happy to say smog city is still running a muck. while on fb i saw their post about giving away some stickers and just had to hit em up about grabbing some. a couple of words were exchanged and viola, an envelope was mailed out. that pleasant surprise arrived today. pretty stoked to check out all the different goodies. now i could go on and tell you what i know about smog city, but its better to experience it firsthand. so, thanks for stopping by, but go check out projectsmogcity.com right now and learn something. and thank you smog city!

May I post?

already halfway through may and this is my first post for the month. been slammed with work both in and out of the office. when do i get some me time? dream jobs... they're out there. just beware of what you ask for. i'm not complaining (too much). just funny the perspective you have of yourself and what others might have of you. judgment, we all pass it and fail. i think that's what needs to take place again. finding ones self and being free of unnecessary thought and meaningless judgment. or i might just be using that as an excuse to not complete the tasks before me.

procrastination is lying. laying in the shadows of the day. patiently waiting for its name to be called and invited. an all to often welcomed guest that needs to stay home every now and then and not be so eager to please.

in fact, the simple action of sharing this today is procrastination in its purest form. better to be busy doing something, than busy doing nothing.

exit through the gift shop

if you haven't heard of banksy yet, you might be dead. really, check your pulse. then check out his film. the first image is the original poster used for banksy's film "exit through the gift shop" and the second is a poster i grabbed from woostercollective for the new york premiere today. i couldn't figure out which one i wanted to use, so i decided to post them both. wish there was a premiere here in portland. looks like i might be heading up to seattle again just to catch this flick.

i think i need to get back out there. pdx needs a taste of edu and upupon...

i missed out on a post yesterday. looks like i'm already falling behind and its only day 5. that's just sad. well, in an attempt to make up for yesterday's loss, i'd like to offer you this "epic" ad. i swore i was watching planet earth on the discovery channel or something. just beautiful. speaking of the discovery channel, i can't wait to watch the "life" series, looks promising.

other than that... HAPPY FRIDAY! it's a beautiful day out. portland, sometimes you get the best of me.

mindless monday

hello and welcome to to the upupon blog. i'll get into the whole thing about what upupon is later. for now let me introduce you to mindless monday. this post is dedicated to the first work day of the week (for most of us that is). where you simply drag yourself through the doors, put your head down, and work... with as little thought as possible, just to get it over with.

i can't say this day was completely mindless, i did manage to strike up one thought... stickers! that's right, i exceeded the subpar level of my motivation to produce some stickers. with a little help from tedd (of feath clothing) and his friend blue herron pale ale, we got down to make the second small batch of upupon stickers and the very first round of feath stickers. (pictures soon to follow)
